पुणे, मार्च 2025 - वंचित आणि स्थलांतरित समुदायातील मुलांचे शिक्षण आणि साक्षरता यासाठी काम करणाऱ्या डोअर स्टेप स्कूल फाउंडेशन या संस्थेतर्फे 17 ते 22 मार्च या आठवड्यात सकाळी 10:30 ते संध्याकाळी 5:00 वाजेपर्यंत, परिवर्तन प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, अण्णाभाऊ साठे प्राथमिक शाळा, कुमठेकर रोड, पुणे येथे ‘मुलांच्या शिक्षणात पालकांचा सहभाग’ या विषयावर आधारित प्रदर्शनाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले आहे.

डोअर स्टेप स्कूल फाउंडेशन गेल्या तीन दशकांहून अधिक काळ वंचित समुदायातील मुलांसाठी गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षण आणि साक्षरता उपलब्ध करून देण्यासाठी कार्यरत आहे. औपचारिक शाळा आणि घरातील वातावरण या दोन्हीमधील शिक्षणासंबंधी कमतरता भरून काढण्यासाठी संस्थेतर्फे पायाभूत साक्षरता, नाविन्यपूर्ण शिक्षण पद्धती, तसेच पालकांच्या सहभागावर विशेष काम केले जाते. स्कूल ऑन व्हील्स (फिरती शाळा), वस्तीपातळीवरील अभ्यास वर्ग व वाचनालय, तसेच परिवर्तन प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, यासारख्या उपक्रमांद्वारे मुलांच्या शिक्षणासाठी एक मजबूत व्यवस्था तयार करण्यासाठी पालक, शिक्षक आणि इतर घटकांच्या सक्रिय सहकार्यातून काम केले जाते.

मुलांच्या शैक्षणिक प्रवासात पालकांचा सहभाग हा एक महत्त्वाचा घटक आहे. पालकांना आपल्या मुलांची शैक्षणिक प्रगती, शाळेतील उपस्थिती, आणि घरी अभ्यास करण्याचे वातावरण यामध्ये सहभागी होण्यासाठी योग्य साधने आणि माहिती देऊन सक्षम बनवण्याचे काम करण्यासाठी संस्थेतर्फे ‘मुलांच्या शिक्षणात पालकांचा सहभाग’ हा विशेष प्रकल्प चालवला जातो. यामध्ये खालील गोष्टींचा समावेश आहे:

• वर्गातील शिक्षणासोबतच घरी अभ्यास करण्याचे महत्त्व पालकांना पटवून देण्यासाठी जागरूकता आणि समुपदेशन सत्रांचे आयोजन करणे.
• स्वतः साक्षर नसलेल्या पालकांना मुलांच्या अभ्यासात सहभाग घेण्यासाठी सक्षम करणारी कार्यशाळा आणि कृती आधारित प्रशिक्षण.
• घरी अभ्यास करण्यासाठी उपयुक्त शैक्षणिक साहित्य, कार्यपुस्तिका आणि उद्देशपूर्ण खेळ व उपक्रम उपलब्ध करणे.
• एकमेकांच्या मदतीने शिकण्याच्या प्रक्रियेला चालना देण्यासाठी पालक गट आणि शैक्षणिक चर्चागट या माध्यमातून वस्तीपातळीवर शैक्षणिक सहाय्य उपलब्ध करणे.

‘परिवर्तन प्रशिक्षण केंद्र’ हे डोअर स्टेप स्कूल फाउंडेशन संस्थेच्या कार्यकर्त्यांसाठी क्षमता बांधणीचे काम करते. प्रत्यक्ष मुलांसोबत उपक्रम राबविणाऱ्या शिक्षक आणि कार्यकर्त्यांना दिल्या जाणाऱ्या प्रशिक्षणामध्ये, मुलांच्या शिक्षणात पालकांना सहभागी करून घेण्याबाबत प्रशिक्षण देखील दिले जाते. ‘परिवर्तन प्रशिक्षण केंद्रा’द्वारे शिक्षक प्रशिक्षण, मुलांसाठी व पालकांसाठी शैक्षणिक साहित्य निर्मिती, उत्कृष्ट पद्धतींचे दस्तऐवजीकरण, तसेच पालक व शिक्षक संबंध मजबूत करण्यासाठी उपक्रम, या गोष्टींकडे लक्ष दिले जाते.

अशा प्रकारचे प्रयोग आणि प्रयत्न प्रकाशात आणण्यासाठी आणि जास्तीत जास्त पालक, शिक्षक व सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्यांना मुलांच्या शिक्षणात सहभागी होण्यास प्रोत्साहित करण्यासाठी, ‘मुलांच्या शिक्षणात पालकांचा सहभाग’ या विषयावरील प्रदर्शनाचे आयोजन डोअर स्टेप स्कूल फाउंडेशन संस्थेतर्फे करण्यात येत आहे. शाळेत जाणाऱ्या मुलांचा घरी अभ्यास घेण्यासाठीच्या पद्धती, सरावपुस्तिका व इतर शैक्षणिक साधने, कृती आणि खेळ बघण्याची, तसेच प्रत्यक्ष पालकांसोबत काम करणाऱ्या कार्यकर्त्यांशी संवाद साधण्याची संधी या प्रदर्शनाद्वारे सर्वांना मिळू शकणार आहे.

Theme: Parents’ Participation in Children's Education

Organized by Door Step School Foundation

Pune, March 2025 – Door Step School Foundation (DSSF), a pioneering organization committed to literacy and education for children from marginalized and migrant communities, is organizing an exhibition on Parent's Participation in Children's Education from 17th to 22nd March, between 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Parivartan Training Centre, Annabhau Sathe Primary School, Kumthekar Road, Pune.

For over three decades, DSSF has been working to ensure quality education and literacy for children from underserved backgrounds. The organization focuses on foundational literacy, innovative learning models, and community engagement to bridge the gap between schools and home learning environments. Through initiatives like School on Wheels, Community Learning Centers, and the Parivartan Training Program, DSSF actively collaborates with parents, teachers, and communities to build a strong support system for children's education.

Parental involvement is one of the most significant factors in a child’s continuity and progress in education. DSSF runs a special project on Parents’ Participation for Children's Education, where the team works on empowering parents by providing them with the right tools and knowledge to support their children’s learning at home. Their initiatives include:

• Awareness and counseling sessions to educate parents on the importance of home based study along with classroom learning.
• Workshops and hands-on training to equip parents with strategies to support children's studies, even if they are not literate.
• Providing educational materials, workbooks, and structured activities for effective home learning.
• Community-based learning support, including Parent Groups and Learning Circles, to foster peer learning.

The Parivartan Training Centre serves as the capacity-building arm of DSSF, offering training to teachers, social workers, and facilitators on effectively engaging parents in education. The centre focuses on training educators, developing learning materials for parents, documenting best practices, to strengthen parent-teacher partnerships.

To highlight these efforts and encourage more parents, teachers, and social workers to engage in children's education, DSSF is organizing the Exhibition on Parent Participation in Children’s Education. The exhibition will showcase methods to support children's studies at home, educational resources, activity workbooks, and an opportunity to engage with practitioners who work closely with parents.

We invite the social organizations, school teachers and educators, media, and the public to visit the exhibition and participate in meaningful discussions on enhancing parental engagement in education.

At Door Step School Foundation, learning goes beyond textbooks! Our Annual Exhibition, organised by the Parivartan Training Centre, provides a platform for educators and learners to explore meaningful themes that shape the way we teach and understand children’s education.

Over the years, the exhibition has covered topics like multiple intelligences, comprehension, and expression, each designed to enhance the understanding of how children learn, process information, and communicate. Through interactive displays, models, and engaging activities, visitors—including teachers, trainers, education officials, and students—get a chance to experience innovative teaching methodologies firsthand.

🔹 Why is this exhibition important?

Traditional learning often lacks space for experiential learning, creative expression, and in-depth comprehension. These exhibitions create an opportunity to:

Creche and Day Care Centres

🌟 Health Camp for Children & Parents at Construction Sites: Awareness on Health, Nutrition, and Immunization 🌟

Door Step School Foundation, Pune, in partnership with Azim Premji Foundation, has been working for the health and nutrition of children at construction sites, brick kilns, and sugarcane factories through its “Creche and Day Care Centres.”

On February 14th and 15th, 2025, health camps were conducted at two construction sites in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area by a dedicated team of doctors and nurses from the Department of Paediatrics, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital, and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune.

👩‍⚕️ Medical Checkups & Key Interventions: ✔ Parents were advised on proper nutrition, including home-cooked meals, fruits, dairy, and essential supplements. ✔ 98 children and 67 parents received medical checkups across both days. ✔ Children with acute health issues were identified, and parents were guided on necessary treatments. ✔ Common ailments like cold, fever, and cough were addressed with prescribed medications. ✔ Special awareness sessions were conducted on thyroid, cervical cancer, and adolescent health for girls aged 9-15 years. ✔ Special cases like thyroid disorders and past medical conditions were addressed with appropriate recommendations.

🏗 Community & Stakeholder Support: ✅ Builders facilitated logistics, ensuring parents were given time to attend. ✅ DSS staff, teachers, and supervisors motivated the parents to attend.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Shailaja Mane and her dedicated team of doctors and nurses from the Department of Paediatrics, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital, and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, for their time and efforts in conducting this camp. The Early Childhood Association (ECA) and Association for Preparatory Education and Research (APER) were formed with the goal- ‘Let Childhood Be the Right of Every Child, Everywhere’. It is a non-profit Association, with members pan-India, including preschools, teachers, educators, institutes, NGOs, and corporates.

Keeping in mind Door Step School Foundation’s unstinting efforts towards preparatory years education and quality, Door Step School Foundation (DSSF) was unanimously selected by the National and Core Committee of Association for Preparatory Education and Research (APER) for Most Committed NGO Working for Preparatory Years Award.

DSSF Founder Prof Rajani Paranjpe received the award at the ceremony held on 15th of February 2025 at Lodha Oakwood School, Wadala, Mumbai.
