๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ”ฌ World Science Day for Peace & Development

At Door Step School Foundation (DSSF), we believe curiosity is the first step toward change. By nurturing a scientific temper in children through hands-on experiments, science weeks, exhibitions, and interactive learning, we help them explore the world with wonder and understanding.

Literacy lays the foundation for learning science comprehensively and through volunteering, we also support children in learning science and mathematics, strengthening their academic growth and confidence.

Science itself holds the idea that it can both build and destroy it can create life-changing technologies and drive development, yet also lead to harm if misused. It is important to bring children to this understanding so they learn to use knowledge responsibly and ethically.

✨ Join us by volunteering to teach science and maths together we can nurture curious, responsible young thinkers and help with their academics too.

๐Ÿ’š World Mental Health Day — The Teacher as a Pillar of Support

Every child deserves a safe space — where they are not just taught, but truly understood. ๐ŸŒฑ

On this World Mental Health Day, let’s remember that mental health and learning go hand in hand.

A calm mind learns better. A supported child grows stronger.

At Door Step School Foundation, teachers have often stepped into the role of counsellors — helping children cope with fear, stress, or self-doubt, and guiding them gently back to confidence and joy.

Through compassion and creativity, teachers at DSSF:

๐ŸŒผ Recognize emotional distress and respond with patience, not pressure.

๐ŸŒผ Create joyful, stress-free learning spaces that rebuild focus and interest.

๐ŸŒผ Encourage open communication — listening without judgment.

๐ŸŒผ Work with families to strengthen emotional support at home.

๐ŸŒผ Motivate through appreciation, helping children see their own progress.

๐ŸŒผ Foster inclusion and empathy among classmates.

These thoughtful actions may seem small, but together they create emotionally safe environments — where learning becomes healing.

Let’s celebrate every teacher who nurtures not only minds, but hearts. ๐Ÿ’š

Because when children feel supported, they learn better, dream bigger, and grow stronger.

International Literacy Day

Since 1989, Door Step School Foundation has been working with the urban-poor, marginalized, and migrant communities to nurture not just literacy, but a strong culture of reading. This year, as we observe International Literacy Day with the theme “Promoting Literacy in the Digital Era”, it is important to pause and reflect on the realities on the ground.

Yes, education has reached many children and youth in recent years. Yet, literacy itself remains a struggle for countless children. Many are unable to read with understanding, and the reasons are complex: lack of access to schools, shortage of teachers, limited resources, and concerns around the quality of teaching. Migration and displacement further disrupt learning, leaving children at risk of being left behind.

Digital resources and methodologies can provide new opportunities — helping us reach out to children on the move, creating continuity in their education, and designing innovative approaches to teaching reading and literacy. But we must also recognize that digitalization can deepen inequalities if access is unequal, if children lack guidance, or if technology replaces rather than supports meaningful teaching.

At Door Step School Foundation, we believe literacy is not just the ability to read and write — it is the foundation for opportunity, empowerment, and inclusion. In the digital era, we remain committed to ensuring that every child has the chance to learn, to read, and to grow into a confident lifelong learner. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ“–

Celebration the 79th Independence Day with Joy & Unity!

Our centers came alive with colors of patriotism and happiness as children, parents, and community members came together to celebrate the 79th Independence Day in a grand and heartfelt way.

The celebration began with children beautifully decorating the space with flags, flowers, rangolis, and vibrant artwork, filling the atmosphere with festive energy.

With the flag hoisting ceremony, the voices of our little ones rose in harmony, singing the National Anthem and patriotic songs that touched every heart. Children shared powerful speeches and slogans, and in some centers even held processions—marching with pride and echoing the spirit of freedom.

Parents applauded their performances, while everyone enjoyed a series of engaging activities—cultural programs, painting competitions, fun games, and awareness sessions that brought the entire community together.

The day ended on a sweet note with the distribution of sweets to all children, and heartfelt thanks extended to the parents, volunteers, and supporters who made the celebration truly special.

This Independence Day wasn’t just a commemoration—it was a reminder of the values of unity, freedom, and the bright future our children represent. Together, we celebrated not just a nation’s journey, but also the power of community and togetherness.

Here’s to the spirit of freedom, celebrated in every smile, every song, and every heart! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ

World Breastfeeding Week 2025

At Door Step School Foundation (DSSF), we create awareness to breastfeeding mothers in some of the most underserved communities, including construction sites, sugar factories, and brick kilns.

Our key activities include:

✅ Discussion with parents on myths, proper breastfeeding methods, and hygiene

✅ Sharing information about the importance of breastfeeding and recommended frequency

✅ Educating on continued breastfeeding with complementary feeding after 6 months

✅ Supporting access to Take-Home Rations (THR) from Anganwadis for improved nutrition

Why it matters:

Creating sustainable support systems begins with awareness and access. At DSSF, we focus on ensuring that mothers receive the right information about breastfeeding and are connected to existing government resources like Anganwadi services and Take-Home Rations (THR). This helps families make informed choices and supports healthier starts for children within their communities.

This year’s theme calls for governments, employers, healthcare providers, and communities to establish breastfeeding-friendly policies, such as:

๐Ÿ”น Paid maternity leave

๐Ÿ”น Dedicated lactation spaces

๐Ÿ”น Training for healthcare workers and workplace support staff

Together, we can build an environment where every mother feels supported and every child thrives.

๐ŸŒ International Day of Friendship ๐Ÿค

When children migrate to new places — new cities, new schools, new communities — it can be overwhelming.

Unfamiliar languages, different customs, and changing environments often lead to anxiety and a sense of isolation.

But friendship can be the catalyst that transforms discomfort into comfort, and strangers into support systems.

It helps children feel seen, safe, and connected. It teaches them that differences are not barriers — they’re bridges.

Friendship across class, caste, religion, language, and economic backgrounds builds harmony among communities.

It shows our children that conflicts can be resolved not through division, but through empathy and respect.

It helps them believe in a future that’s fair, inclusive, and most importantly — theirs.

Let’s raise a generation that knows:

๐Ÿ’› Friendship is powerful.

๐Ÿ’› Inclusion is essential.

๐Ÿ’› A better world begins with us.

World Youth Skills Day 2025

Formal education builds foundations, and skills build futures.

In today’s world, the ability to do matters as much as the ability to know.

Yet, the quality and depth of training remain deeply unequal.

Across the country, many young people are building their futures through quality training and practical learning.

But not every youth gets the same start. While some have access to advanced tools, mentors, and smooth career paths, others show equal talent and determination but face barriers in training and post-training opportunities.

At Door Step School Foundation, we work to bridge this gap, ensuring that every young person, regardless of background, gets the skills, support, and confidence they need to succeed.

๐ŸŒŸ Talent is everywhere. Access and Opportunity should be too.

๐ŸŒ World Population Day 2025

“When population rises, equity falls — unless we act.”

A growing population brings with it growing pressure — on resources, infrastructure, and society itself.

๐Ÿ“‰ What happens when resources fall short?

Marginalised communities are the first to be left behind

Migration becomes a necessity, not a choice

Access to local education and basic services disappears

Inequality widens as development favours a few

Rapid urbanisation stretches cities beyond their capacity

At Door Step School Foundation, we witness this imbalance every day — children who migrate lose access to education, families face instability, and entire communities remain excluded from growth.

But it doesn't have to be this way.

We are addressing this through ensuring access for every child to formal education. It may not solve all the above problems; but it may provide hope and tools to the children towards a just society.

Feedback from Mr. Sainath Nagorao Kandle, Assistant Teacher at Mahatma Phule High School

We’re so happy to share this wonderful feedback from Mr. Sainath Nagorao Kandle, Assistant Teacher at Mahatma Phule High School, Nanded.

✨ “Door Step School Foundation’s books have sparked my 5½-year-old child’s love for reading. From the joy of finishing small storybooks to memorizing songs from ‘Chala Gani Gavuya,’ every page has brought learning and happiness.” ✨

At Door Step School Foundation, our publications are helping children discover the joy of reading beyond screens. These small, thoughtfully designed books introduce kids to animals, birds, fruits, and vegetables in ways that spark curiosity, enrich vocabulary, and strengthen their learning foundation.

When books speak the language of a child’s world, they don’t just teach—they transform. ๐ŸŒŸ

 World Music Day | 21st June ๐ŸŽถ

Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child affirms every child’s right to rest, leisure, play, and participation in cultural and artistic life.

For children from marginalised and migrant communities, access to play and cultural expression is often limited. At DSSF, we work to uphold their rights by creating inclusive spaces where music becomes a tool for learning, healing, and joy.

Through songs about nature, animals, daily life, and emotions, we create joyful spaces where children can learn, express, and belong. Music becomes more than entertainment — it’s a path to connection, and confidence.

This World Music Day, let’s celebrate the power of music to uplift, include, and empower every child. ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฆœ๐ŸŽถ

Parents Participation in Education Matters!
At Door Step School Foundation, we believe that parental participation is key to a child’s learning journey.

Today marks the final day of our exhibition, where parents experienced how their children learn and grow and how they can participate in their children's learning. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ก
