Digambar Jadhav lives with his large family of nine. He works as a daily wage laborer doing odd jobs at a construction site, roadside, or any other work that comes his way and he is the sole bread earner of the family. He admits he did not understand the seriousness of the lockdown. He thought it was just for a few days and he would soon get back to work! The family belongs to a village near Nanded and they are in no position to go back. Not working for a particular contractor has made his life very difficult. He stood in a line for more than four hours but did not get any ration. He also has a bank account but there is nothing in it.DSS found him as they were working in that area and only DSS reached out to him and asked about his family’s welfare. He was very skeptical that DSS would help them as DSS helps in school matters. He was very emotional when DSS gave his family two bags of ration.
